Slovak Design Award 2024 Exhibition – Communication Design for the first time in Košice!

On this occasion, we decided to take a significant step – to move the exhibition out of the capital, which has hosted the exhibition throughout its history, and to make this representative selection of design work available to audiences in other regions of Slovakia. We decided to present it in Košice, as designers and manufacturers from the Eastern Slovakian region regularly appear among the registered and winning NCD projects, and Košice is also home to one of the most important universities teaching design in Slovakia: the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University.

The exhibition is organized in cooperation with Kulturpark Košice. The grand opening is planned for February 11 at 6:00 PM and the exhibition will run until March 14, 2025. The Košice audience will have a unique opportunity to get to know the awarded and nominated works by 137 authors in 11 categories of communication design. Before the opening of the exhibition itself, you can listen to a guided tour with curator Juraj Blašek, which will start at 5:00 PM.

Our aim is to support the balanced development of design throughout Slovakia. The event in Košice is the first step in our initiative to broaden the audience interested in design, support the cultural industry in this region and the local cultural scene, and raise awareness of design as a strategic tool for cultural and economic development. Last but not least, the event can contribute to the creation of new partnerships and contribute to further activities in the future.

The National Design Award regularly presents the work of talented designers*years from the Košice region. We believe that the launch of the exhibition in Košice will be a significant event and inspiration for them and the local community.
