Almanac (The Story of a Theater)
The Almanac of the Municipal Theater Žilina by Zuzana Palenčíková represents a unique collision of the traditional book format—a linear record—and a more dynamic, magazine-like presentation of contextual information and visual blocks. It captures the 30-year history of the Žilina Municipal Theater through stories of current and former staff, as well as external observers. This blend of formats allows for a generous artistic approach in the layout, as envisioned by graphic designer Marcel Benčík. The moving meaning of text and image follows multiple storylines that can be perceived both separately and concurrently, creating a seamless yet varied reading experience.
