Words like fascist, progressive, liberalism, migrant, peace, and many others are often distorted to serve various dishonest interests or narratives. “Word thieves” continuously attempt to co-opt these terms and infuse them with misleading meanings. As we lose our ability to discern the truth, we become more susceptible to lies and misinformation. How can this be addressed? Designer Martin Polakovič has created a unique Dictionary of Stolen Words. This dictionary features terms that are systematically misused, providing correct and incorrect examples of their usage in sentences. It also includes blank pages for adding new words.
