In a Strange City

The war in Ukraine and other global conflicts force many people to leave their home countries and adapt to new, unfamiliar environments. In Slovakia, these individuals turn to the non-profit organization Mareena, which assists them with practical aspects of life in a completely “strange and foreign city”. To recruit volunteers for this non-profit, the campaign features an excerpt from the well-known Slovak song “In a Foreign City” by Jana Kirschner, which poignantly captures the situation with the lyrics: Everything is strange here, when you are not here. The text in the campaign spot is recited by the refugees themselves. Their photo portraits, set against the backdrop of the cities where they now reside, form the basis of the offline campaign.
