The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2023
The new visual identity for the Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia competition, organized by Bibiana, an international art house for children, draws inspiration from the shapes of bookmarks used to highlight winning books in bookstores. These bookmarks feature a cutout in the shape of a stylized trophy, which has been incorporated into the new identity. Although the text on the bookmarks may not be fully legible, it encourages viewers to remove the bookmark and learn more about the competition. This cutout and overlay concept is applied across all visual identity materials, including social media, posters, invitations, and catalogs. For the 32nd edition of the competition, yellow was used as the dominant color. The design allows for color changes each year, as well as variations in materials and cutout shapes, ensuring long-term sustainability. The logo and materials utilize the Bagoss typeface from Displaay Type Foundry.
