Circular Superstructures
The project addresses material waste from upholstered components. Most end up in landfills because their composition makes recycling and separation of materials impossible. How can changes in technology lead to solutions that optimize material use without compromising user comfort? This work focuses on monomaterial alternatives that, through revised manufacturing, eliminate the need for adhesives and permanent joints. This approach opens up opportunities for more efficient waste treatment and helps shape a culture that promotes sustainability by design. In this context, proposals for soft seating and backrest solutions were developed as variations in the geometry and construction, each with distinct properties.
