Seriality and Repetition in Slovak Visual Art
The book by renowned Slovak visual art theoretician Zora Rusinová explores a niche area of artistic creation that employs seriality and repetition as key creative methods. It examines the development and typology of seriality and repetition from the neo-avant-garde of the sixties to the present, considering contemporary historical and social contexts within the Euro-American art theoretical framework. The serial method’s principles are illustrated through the analysis of works by selected Slovak artists. The book’s design reflects its research theme, featuring a repeated motif of simple geometric elements. The publication was awarded the Most Beautiful Book in Slovakia 2023.
