Power Plants
In Slovakia, functional museums in power plants preserve the technological and architectural advancements of the 20th century. Historians Eva Belláková and Veronika Chládeková, along with photographer Matej Hakár, explored 21 selected sites. Designer Ľubica Segečová shaped their research into a book formatted as a card file of various objects. Some are structures in the landscape rather than elaborate architecture. They are connected by the function of electricity production. The photos document their appearance objectively. Some have a romantic or, on the contrary, critical tone. However, the design of the book is technical in nature and resembles control centers inside power plants. The symbol on the cover expresses the transformation of electrical energy.
