Painting SK
The Painting SK project aims to highlight the significance of contemporary Slovak painting and trace its development since 2000. Editor Zora Rusinová views this period as a gap after the 1989 transition, when painting was often sidelined in favor of new trends, technological advancements, and vibrant social and cultural events. This publication introduces the readers to 42 Slovak artists, both male and female, with profiles and 280 works compiled by a team of fifteen art historians and theorists. Published in collaboration with the White & Weiss gallery, the book features a minimalist brown and white cover, adorned with a geometrically simplified brush stroke motif.
