Rainbow Glass

The playful “Rainbow Glass” cocktail glass and goblet build on the rich glassmaking tradition of Slovakia’s Novohrad region and exceptional craftsmanship. The rainbow colors were hand-painted at the factory in Lučenec. The glass invites you to rotate it in your hands while observing optical blending of colors. With its colorful playfulness, it draws on rich folklore traditions, for example the ever-present raising of a decorated maypole and the associated drinking of alcohol. The goblet and glass are handmade in a Slovak glassworks using traditional blown-glass technology. The project was created for the ILLOLA design platform.
