MSS99 – Modular Shining System 99

MSS 99 is a modular light installation created for the daytime café and nighttime bar and concert venue Temný Ost Block, located in the former PRIOR building in Bratislava. It consists of ninety-nine bespoke wall sockets into which flexible LED neon tubes in two fixed lengths can be inserted. The arrangement can be changed by plugging tubes into different sockets, but the limited lengths form a “design alphabet” of shapes, as each socket and connector fits only at specific angles. This enables playful yet visually cohesive compositions. The installation is inspired by the red hanging neons that define the venue’s visual identity. Each element is wireless and can be integrated into performances or used to transform the atmosphere.
