BONDIA
BONDIA is a seating design created to support interaction between grandparents and their preschool-aged grandchildren. Drawing on associations linked to grandparenthood, it combines a stable seat for the grandparent with a dynamic section that lets the child sit in multiple ways. These two parts are connected by a knot-like component symbolizing the strong bond between the two generations. It underscores the importance of connection, mutual understanding, and the sharing of values and experience. This design’s goal is to improve the quality of shared moments and intergenerational relationships, contributing to healthier, more balanced family life. BONDIA has been recognized by Graduation Projects 2024, the Prof. J. Halabala Award 2024, and Best in Design 2025.
