Peter Roller’s Petrograms at the Slovak National Gallery
Slovak visual artist Petr Roller’s catalog is a supplement to the collection of Petrograms for the Slovak National Gallery. The photographs for the catalogue were taken by Juraj Starovecký. Each of Roller’s Petrograms is closely connected with nature, and Starovecký conscientiously “returned” each piece to the banks of the Danube to capture it for the catalog. A key aspect of the publication’s design was maintaining the geographical sequence of the photographs along the river’s course. The catalog’s pure and minimalist graphic design underscores the meditative quality of the collection, emphasizing simplicity and clarity.
