100 Years of the Slovak National Theater
The book 100 Years of the Slovak National Theater by Dagmar Podmakova, Nadežda Lindovská, Michaela Mojžišová, and a collective of authors, is a thousand-page narrative publication featuring one hundred reconstructions of iconic drama, opera, and ballet productions. The selection reflects the number of premieres of individual artistic bodies. The covers depict costume designs by prominent artists. The publication’s classic design intentionally diverges from contemporary trends, providing a timeless framework for its visually diverse content. On top of working with a lot of disparate material, some other major design challenges were ensuring reader comfort through thoughtful choices in dimensions, paper, volume division, chapter titles on the margin, bookmarks, and packaging, aiming to make the book a functional read rather than merely a decorative library piece.
