SoMinium

My work focuses on designing comfortable and practical accessories for car interiors and was created in collaboration with Mini. MI began by using jacquard weaving and developing textile designs by combining different fabric weaves. I created several jacquard fabrics from bamboo and cotton fibers with designs inspired by the Mini Aceman’s signature car light motifs. This fabric was used as upholstery for a series of pillows for passenger seats. The shapes are designed to work as a self-supporting objects: one part of the pillow is inserted into the gap between the car seat and the window so it stays in place, while the rest supports the passenger’s head and neck. This series is completed with a jacquard blanket woven with the Mini logo.
