The diploma thesis focuses on a pilot study of metal 3D printing with an emphasis on its application in the footwear industry, specifically in the production of high heels. The research explored the relevance and feasibility of using this technology, examining both its advantages and limitations. The goal was to demonstrate a production method that offers reduced wear during use and a broader scope for creative expression enabled by the rigidity of metal materials. The thesis also highlights the potential of this technology in an industry where it is not yet commonly applied. Visually, the project draws on Charles and Ray Eames, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and the aesthetics of the action office and cubicle.
