Splash – Light Installation Made of Fused Glass
The Splash installation explores the dynamic and transformative nature of water through the medium of glass. It celebrates water as an emotional and energetic phenomenon, with glass mirroring its qualities—malleable, transparent, and responsive to light. Just like water, glass can capture a fleeting moment and become a lasting vessel for emotion. This piece powerfully employes optical phenomena such as reflection and caustic effects to create striking visual experiences. Technologically, it uses precision waterjet cutting and kiln-bending of glass on terraced molds, allowing organic structures that mimic water’s natural flow. A considered system of production, composition, and suspension enables the installation to scale from intimate compositions to immersive arrangements.
