Circulus
Circulus is a collection of lighting objects in which a living organism, mycelium, directly shapes the final form of each piece as it grows. The project merges natural processes with technology, including 3D printing and the use of recycled and recyclable materials, and explores the relationships among design, technology, nature, and sustainable aesthetics. The organic material, cultivated in digitally designed and machine-made molds, gives rise to unique objects with a minimal environmental footprint. Circulus offers a vision of design that grows, breathes, and naturally returns to nature’s cycle.
