Frag_ility

Mária Štvrtecká- main designer
Juraj Straka- co-author

In the FRAG_ILITY project, I explore human behavior, diverse opinions, and social polarization. Social networks create information bubbles with one-sided views, reinforcing division and isolation. Society’s vulnerability appears in disharmony and in a declining willingness to communicate with respect. I understand fragility as something brittle and low in resilience, but also as softness and understanding. On the one hand, people live in fragile “glass bubbles” that can easily shatter during interaction; on the other, fragility reflects thoughtfulness and empathy, which are key to communication and building stable foundations. I collaborated with textile designer Juraj Straka, who created the fabric patterns.
