RETROSPECTA 45

Retrospecta is an annual journal that records events and outstanding circumstances that have uniquely impacted the academic, social, and political environment at the Yale School of Architecture. Graphic designer Filip Birkner and type designer Jisung Park were selected and commissioned to design the 45th issue in close collaboration with the editorial team. To recreate the experience that is most keenly left at school, and was most poignantly missing during the pandemic, was opted to split the book in various ways as opposed to composing a single book with an inherent hierarchy. Readers have the autonomy to reshuffle, reorganize, compare, and contrast studios, seminars, and semesters, as well as discover moments of confluence in vignettes of school life. This issue was offset printed.
